SMILES

SMILES is a media literacy project focused on equipping youths aged 12 to 15 learn to combat fake information. The project brings together partners in the Netherlands, Spain and Belgium who work in libraries, media literacy organisations and research institutes to develop and test an innovative approach to combating the spread of disinformation.

The SMILES team will test innovative educational approaches in the form of fake news interventions in secondary schools organised by school teachers and librarians and to monitor their effectiveness.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme under grant agreement: 2020-1-NL01-KA226-SCH-083106. It will run from March 2021 to Febrary 2023.
