Roel van den Sigtenhorst
Board member
Roel is the CEO of Muntpunt Brussels since September of 2023 and is currently also on the General Council of het Huis van het Nederlands (House for the Dutch Language) and the board of Public Libraries 2030. He has had various management roles in Public Libraries, most recent as part of the Management Team of the Public Library of Amsterdam as manager Strategic Partnerships. He has a background in strategic management and a history as a commercial airline pilot. He’s got experience in the social and cultural sector in Amsterdam, both as a manager and as a board member.
Public Libraries are tomorrow’s town square, church, school and community centre all rolled into one. They are the platform where creative energy flows freely and ideas, people, and partners connect to learn and create solutions for a better society.

PL2030 brings the European library sector together, fostering collaboration, partnerships, and knowledge exchange through initiatives like the Lighthouse Libraries network. This EU-wide network of innovative libraries is at the core of our efforts to build a vibrant, dynamic and interconnected European library community.
