Veria Central Public Library
My vision for libraries — at local, regional, and European level — is that they remain open, free, accessible, and vibrant spaces of learning, culture, and civic engagement.
The Veria Library is located in the small but historically rich city of Veria, in Northern Greece—a place known for its Byzantine heritage, vibrant cultural life, and active local community. Situated in a region with deep agricultural roots and a strong sense of identity, the library has become the most dynamic hub of the city. It is constantly evolving, offering access to a well-curated and up-to-date book collection, while also preserving and showcasing the local history and culture. Through educational programs, digital innovation, and inclusive services, it empowers citizens of all ages—especially youth and adults—to develop new skills and actively participate in community life.
