Bergen Public Library is the second largest public library in Norway with ten libraries and two prison libraries. With the main library located in the very heart of the city, it makes a natural meeting point for the inhabitants of Bergen. The nine branch libraries are spread across different neighbourhoods in Bergen to ensure library services close to where people live. The library promotes reading and learning through a wide range of books, events, and free courses, playing a vital role in strengthening local engagement and lifelong learning. Bergen Public Library is the most visited cultural actor in Bergen and offers a wide range of free activities and services for people in all ages.
