We can serve our fellow citizens on an everyday level - nurture their curiosity about the world and the people around them - an help build trustful and thriving local communities.
Vejle Public Library is presently under transformation – and temporarily divided and relocated at two separate locations. A Children’s library branch is located within a central Shopping Center – and an adult and youth branch in an historical textile dye factory. The dye factory connects the modern library space with a defining part of our local history. Vejle was transformed from provincial merchant city to an industrial national powerhouse – with a large cotton spinning factory and dye factory. After closing the factories, the buildings and area has undergone yet another large transformation into a residential, creative and entrepreneurial area. For now, we’re engaging with and serving the local citizens from these locations, while cheering all involved in transforming the ‘old’ library, to fit the vision of the new ‘Library and Culture House’, opening 2026.
