The BIBLIO project aims to identify the skills gap, both transversal and digital skills, in the library sector as a result of the digital transformation. We started this project in late 2019 with nine other partners and the hope to carry out four research activities by August 2020:

  • A desk research piece
  • A training needs survey
  • Coaching circles with library professionals, library users, and training providers in libraries
  • VET best practice interviews

While we set out to do these after our kick-off meeting in January, the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the project’s ability to carry out some of our research activities, namely the coaching circles. During one of our regular check-ins for this research phase, we came to the conclusion that carrying these out online would not give us the same impact as face-to-face interactions. As a result, we decided that carrying out in-depth interviews with the people we had initially wanted to do coaching circles with would give us the qualitative research we wanted to do.
